Learn how to identify birds from varying habitats by both sight and sound on this hike led by Jonathan Tickner (the Merri Creek Wanderer). We will practice moving through the environment without disturbing local wildlife and learn about ethical birding while exploring the different ecosystems of the Hobsons Bay area. Supported by Nocs, join us in spending time observing the beautiful, hidden world of birds in Naarm’s southwest.

Throughout this walk, you will be introduced to the practice of ethical birding and you will learn the fundamentals of bird identification by both sight and sound.

We will move mindfully through various ecosystems, learning about contrasting habitats and the birdlife that resides there. This birding walk will take place across two locations, Newport Lakes and Jawbone Marine Sanctuary. A light morning tea will be provided.
