Explore the beauty of Maiala in D’Aguilar National Park and learn about the bird life that resides there. Led by César Puechmarin, wildlife nurse, soon-to-be-vet, and host of the Death by Birding podcast, we will learn the fundamentals of bird identification by both sight and sound. Supported by Nocs Provisions, we’ll explore the subtropical rainforest habitat and spend time observing the beautiful, hidden world of birds.

  • Led by César Puechmarin, together we will explore the lands of the Turrbal, Garumngar, and Jinibara Peoples, 40km northwest of Meanjin (Brisbane), and learn about the birds that live there. Throughout this walk, you will be introduced to the practice of mindful birding and you will learn the fundamentals of bird identification by both sight and sound.

    Binoculars for use during the workshop as well as a light morning tea will be provided.

  • César Puechmarin is in his final year of veterinary school, a wildlife photographer, wildlife vet nurse, writer and podcaster. Host of the popular and entertaining podcast, Death by Birding, César has had a penchant for the natural world from a young age. Working with birds and native wildlife for much of the past decade, César’s accumulated a wealth of knowledge and enjoys sharing his passion with others.
