BAT MASSIVE
Together, we’ll visit Naarm’s flying fox colony as the bats wake for their night in the sky. An exclusive, immersive prelude to the Abbotsford Convent’s Bat Massive — a nocturnal assembly of art, ecology and ascension in the elements.
Join Mappa and Up the Creek for a special activation hosted with Abbotsford Convent.
WHO
We’ve teamed up with our friends from Up the Creek, Microbats Melbourne, and the Abbotsford Convent to create an experience which will enrich your understanding of these native, nocturnal creatures.
The boat tour will be led by Ericka Tudhope, bat carer and founder of Microbats Melbourne, Derek Cook, nature guide and founder of Up the Creek, and Ava Graham, bat enthusiast and founder of Mappa Outdoor.
WHAT
Starting and finishing at the Convent, you’ll be guided through the entire experience — from land to water and back. Tickets include access to the full Bat Massive program.
Experience the full spectrum of Naarm’s magic by starting your afternoon with the beautiful bats and finishing your night amidst the music, art, and culture that make our city so special.
